Memories (your saved archive)
Memories is your library of saved articles, research and notes. Unlike a feed that scrolls away, Memories stay until you delete them, and you can search them.
Different from Most Recent Activities, which is a rolling summary of what you've been doing (see What "your brain" is).
What gets saved here
- Articles you save from the News and Research widgets (the bookmark icon on a headline saves the link plus a short summary).
- Anything else with a Save to Memory button.
Deleting: open a memory and click Delete. It asks to confirm, then it's gone for good.
Browse & read
- The Memories widget shows your most recent saves. Scroll for more.
- Click one to read it. From there, Copy it or Export it as a Markdown file.
- A fuller, searchable view lives in Settings → Memory.
Search
In Settings → Memory, type to search, and filter by type or date.
- Keyword search works offline, instantly.
- Semantic search (optional) finds items by meaning. Turn it on in Settings → AI Engine → Semantic memory search, pick a provider (a local Ollama model you've pulled, or an OpenAI key), and click Build embeddings for saved memories once.
More in Settings → Memory
- Ask your memories: ask a question in plain English and get an answer drawn from what you've saved, with the items it used. Needs an AI engine.
- Long-term memory: older, untouched memories can be combined into short summaries (Consolidate now), optionally kept in a folder you choose.
- Capture Sources: let BGP index the titles and links of recent Gmail, Google Calendar or browser history so they're searchable here. Each asks permission. Sync now and Index history now refresh them. The originals never move.
- Export everything for safekeeping…: a Markdown archive of all memories with an offline viewer.
- Delete shown… removes everything currently in the filtered list.
Good to know
- Memories are included in your full backup and in Full private sync.
- Saving an article never makes an AI call on its own. It reuses the summary already shown.
- Don't see the widget? Turn on Memories in Select Dashboard Widgets.
