Install BGP Mission Control for Mac

BGP Mission Control for Mac runs the dashboard as its own app on your Mac and adds powers a browser can't have: AI agents that do multi-step jobs, a Media Library, launching your Mac apps, and email reminders for Important Dates. Everything stays on your Mac.

Mac only. Windows and Linux users get the same core experience from the Chrome extension.

Install it

  1. Download the installer from the downloads page: https://bgp-download.ovadeusllc.workers.dev/ (a .dmg file).
  2. Open the .dmg and drag BGP Mission Control into your Applications folder. If your Mac won't let you write to Applications, any folder you own works too. Just don't run it from inside the .dmg window.
  3. Open it from Applications or Spotlight.

The first-open security prompt

macOS may say the app is from an unidentified developer, or that it was downloaded from the internet. If plain Open isn't offered:

  1. In Applications, right-click (Control-click) the app → Open.
  2. Click Open in the dialog.

You only do this once.

Using it with the Chrome extension

The extension and the Mac app are separate: each has its own dashboard and its own data. They connect in one direction, on your say-so:

  • Bring your Mac data into the extension. With the Mac app running, open the extension's Settings → Data → Import from desktop app. Projects, tasks, notes, bookmarks, dates, countdowns and habits merge in. Nothing is ever removed, and running it again never duplicates. See Import from the Mac app.
  • Going forward, use whichever you like. If you use the extension on several computers, sync keeps those in step.

Good to know

  • The app's version shows when you hover the BGP logo in its sidebar.
  • Your data lives in your user folder on the Mac. No BGP server, no account.
  • To see what's inside, start with The Mac dashboard.

Troubleshooting

"App can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software."

  • Right-click the app → Open → Open. One time only.

It opened from the .dmg window and behaves oddly.

  • Quit it, drag the app to Applications (or any folder), and open it from there.
