What "your brain" is
BGP calls your saved probes, habits, notes, dates, tasks and bookmarks your brain. It uses these records to help you reflect on what you value. They live on your device. You can back them up, sync them, or delete them. There is no BGP account holding them.
The idea
Everything you do is recorded as a small event on a private timeline. From that timeline BGP derives:
- Your Belief Genome: a 265-character serial and its visual forms, on the Soul page.
- Most Recent Activities: a rolling summary and your top themes, in a widget.
- Belief ↔ Behavior: a comparison of what you said matters with what you actually did.
Sync merges the timelines, and backups keep a copy. BGP can calculate your genome again from the saved events. Keep a backup before changing or deleting data.
Answering probes
The probe card on your dashboard shows one belief statement at a time. Slide from False to True and submit. Each answer trains one of 124 dimensions. There's no right answer and no grade. This is a tool for reflection, not a test of whether your beliefs are correct.
The Soul page
Open it from the dashboard. Views: Belief DNA (the strip), Triple Helix, 3D Neuromap, Evolution over time, Contradictions, Thinking, Belief ↔ Behavior, Compare, and the AI Forecaster (needs an AI engine).
Submit your DNA key (Soul page → the green button) contributes an anonymous copy of your serial to the research archive. Entirely opt-in: consent, a four-word passphrase, then upload.
Belief ↔ Behavior reflection
Asks a friendly question: did my week match what I say I care about? Open Soul → Belief ↔ Behavior, or press ⌘K and type "weekly reflection". BGP can notify you when a new weekly reflection is ready. You can dismiss the notification.
Good to know
- Summaries and the Forecaster use the AI engine you connected. A local engine keeps them on your machine. See Connect AI.
- Your brain travels with Full private sync (encrypted) and is in every full backup.
- Using BGP DNA Anywhere too? Merge its genome into this one with a file.
