Ask AI & the Command Bar
Two quick ways to use AI on your dashboard. Both use the AI engine you connected. See Connect AI.
Ask AI (the "Ask Claude" widget)
A simple chat box on your dashboard. Ask a question, get an answer. It runs on whichever engine you chose: Gemini, Claude, or a local model. The widget keeps its original name, but it isn't limited to Claude. The 🔑 button lets you paste a Claude key right there if you prefer that engine.
The Command Bar (⌘K)
Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) to type a request, or hold the microphone at the top right and speak. You can:
- Ask a question.
- Search your memories.
- Create a task ("add a task: call the bank").
- Reflect ("weekly reflection") to compare your beliefs and behavior over a week or month.
- Jump to Settings, your Soul page, or your Brain page.
Voice is hold-to-talk: it records only while you hold the mic, then acts when you let go. Transcription is a cloud service, so voice needs an OpenAI key in Settings → API Keys. Esc closes the bar.
Good to know
- The Command Bar no longer runs "agents." AI jobs with several steps are a Mac app feature.
- Cloud engines send your request to the provider you chose, billed to your own key or free tier. A local engine keeps everything on your machine.
