Belief Genome Project

Student Portal

Create a student account, answer belief probes, and return to your saved progress. The Student Portal is also called BGP Classroom.

Register or sign in

Open Education → Student Portal in the website menu, or visit the Student Portal.

  1. Choose Create account.
  2. Enter your name, school email, and password. Use an address ending in .edu or a school domain approved by the site administrator. If your educator gave you a class code, enter it in the optional class code field.
  3. Complete the bot check and create your account.
  4. Open the verification email and choose Confirm my email. The link expires after one hour. Then sign in to start answering probes. You do not need to install an extension.

If the email does not arrive, check spam, then open Verify email while signed in to request another. Wait one minute between requests. You can request up to five verification emails per hour. If your school domain is not approved, ask your educator to contact Support.

Existing students keep their accounts and saved answers. They must verify their email before submitting more answers. The school domain restriction applies to new registrations.

Returning students can use Sign in. Use the same account to return to your saved progress.

Start answering

Choose Answer probes. You can skip a statement when you do not want to answer. Read Answering student probes for the slider controls and progress measures.

The dashboard shows your progress. Review lets you explore the available views of your belief genome. Some views may be marked as coming soon.

Account and data

Unlike the extensions and Mac app, the Student Portal stores your account and responses on the server so you can return to them. Your Classroom account is separate from the data in your installed tools.

The admin student list tracks account details and participation progress, such as response counts and recent activity. It does not show individual belief answers in that list. This is not a claim that the underlying stored responses are anonymous.

Use Profile to update your details. To remove your account, choose Delete my account and confirm with your password. Read the confirmation carefully before deleting.

If you cannot sign in, check your email and password. There is no automatic password reset on the sign in page. Contact your educator or Support for help.

For educators

Share the Student Portal link and your class code if you use one. Find the poster and other teaching resources in Educational Materials.

The site administrator can approve additional school domains, see email verification status, and suspend or restore student access under Admin → Students. Suspension keeps saved data but blocks account access. Removing a school domain affects future registrations, not existing accounts.
